“Engaging all Burkinabes in the patriotic momentum,” theme of a public conference scheduled for April 3rd in Ouagadougou
Ouagadougou, April 1st, 2024 (Africa Links 24) – Burkinabes are invited to a public conference organized in Ouagadougou on April 3rd, 2024, by the government, under the theme “Engaging all Burkinabes in the patriotic momentum: what lessons can be learned from Burkina’s history and what proposals for innovative and sustainable popular actions.”
The conference is part of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) and aims to “strengthen patriotic consciousness and citizen engagement,” according to the conference’s terms of reference reviewed by Africa Links 24.
According to the organizers, the conference will provide an opportunity to recall the main lessons learned from patriotic engagement and citizen participation initiatives already carried out in Burkina Faso and in other African countries, propose new actions for patriotic engagement and citizen participation, and identify challenges related to the sustainability of these JEPPCs. The meeting will take place in the conference room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation were initiated in September 2023 and officially launched by the head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, on March 26th, 2024. This year, they will last for 15 days.
