In a statement, the ministry specified that after the Maghrib prayer on Tuesday, 29 Ramadan 1445 AH corresponding to April 9, 2024, they observed the crescent moon confirming the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1445 AH.

The first day of Shawwal 1445 AH, Eid al-Fitr, will therefore take place tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the ministry stated.

May God, in this blessed month, bestow His blessings upon His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Commander of the Faithful, may God assist him, and grant a similar occasion to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and all members of the illustrious Royal Family, as well as to the Moroccan people and the entire Islamic Ummah, in progress and prosperity, the statement concluded.
