President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices made by martyrs, which have allowed Egypt to maintain peace and security even amidst unstable regional conditions. His remarks were made during the 39th Armed Forces Cultural Symposium in honor of Martyr’s Day, held at the Al-Manara International Conference Center in New Cairo on Saturday, September 3, 2024.

Sisi highlighted Egypt’s decade-long battle against terrorism and extremism, aimed at destabilizing the state. Despite facing crises such as the global pandemic, the Russian military operation in Ukraine, and conflicts in Gaza, President Sisi emphasized the need for continued efforts and resilience to overcome these challenges.

He acknowledged the rise in prices over the past year and reassured the Egyptian people that his promises to them remain unchanged. With dedication and perseverance, Sisi believes that the country can navigate through the current circumstances successfully.

President Sisi stressed the importance of unity and collective efforts to address the regional and global repercussions of ongoing conflicts. Egypt is actively involved in resolving crises and promoting peace and stability in the region, including by ensuring 24-hour access for aid supplies to the Gaza Strip.

Recognizing the challenges faced in delivering aid to Gaza, especially in the northern region, Sisi mentioned the use of airdrops to reach those in need. He refuted allegations of officials controlling large sums of money and highlighted the demographic challenges stemming from population concentration in certain areas across Egypt.

Sisi described Egypt’s journey towards becoming a more capable state and overcoming obstacles over the past decade. Despite the daunting task of reconstruction in Gaza, estimated at over 90 billion dollars by some institutions, he remained confident in finding solutions to these complex issues.

In conclusion, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s address at the 39th Armed Forces Cultural Symposium underscored Egypt’s resilience in the face of adversity and its commitment to peace and stability in the region. Through unity, hard work, and perseverance, he believes that Egypt can overcome the challenges ahead and emerge stronger than ever.
