Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Sunday the formation of a joint coordination group to oversee the implementation of recommendations and outcomes from the initial phase of the National Dialogue sessions in collaboration with relevant ministries. Speaking to members of the National Dialogue’s Board of Trustees, Madbouly stressed the importance of conducting both general and specialized discussions within the National Dialogue to identify the national priorities for the upcoming phase.
Madbouly also emphasized President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s keen interest in the National Dialogue and his consistent directives to the government regarding the swift translation of outcomes and recommendations into actionable plans that would contribute to achieving goals across various sectors.
In order to implement the outcomes of the first phase, a group led by the Prime Minister’s Technical Office and the Information and Decision Support Center was established to oversee the execution of these recommendations with the involvement of relevant ministries following the development of an executive plan by the Cabinet.
According to Madbouly, under Sisi’s guidance, all ministers and other pertinent officials have been assigned roles in participating and engaging positively in the general and specialized discussion sessions of the second phase.
During the meeting, the premier provided an update on the current economic challenges and the government’s ongoing efforts to address them, underscoring the importance of discussions and brainstorming during the second phase sessions that could yield outcomes helping decision-makers effectively tackle these challenges.
The meeting was attended by Diaa Rashwan, General Coordinator of the National Dialogue, Ahmed Galal, rapporteur for the Economic Axis, and Mahmoud Fawzi, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Dialogue.
Overall, the announcement of the joint coordination group and the commitment to follow through on the recommendations and outcomes of the National Dialogue sessions demonstrate a proactive approach by the government to address key national priorities and challenges.
