Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi officially unveiled the third and final phase of the new tourist walkway north of Hurghada on Tuesday. This latest addition brings the total length of the walkway to eight kilometers and comes with a price tag of up to LE100 million, funded as a community contribution from the owners of hotels and tourist villages.

Hanafi emphasized that the new walkway is a significant tourist attraction for the northern Hurghada area. It boasts several amenities including umbrellas, green spaces, trees, distinctive lighting, cafes, tourist shops, parking areas, and paths for both bicycles and pedestrians. The walkway caters to guests staying at the numerous hotels and tourist resorts north of Hurghada.

Featuring modern lighting, colorful interlocks, and vast green spaces, the walkway was designed with European sensibilities in mind. Hanafi explained that the project is not only a tourist attraction but also serves as a public space and park for citizens and hotel guests in the area.

The walkway also provides job opportunities through the establishment of tourist shops and bazaars. Mohamed Abul-Nasr, one of the contributors to the project, highlighted that the walkway aims to showcase the cultural and aesthetic aspect of the city. It was created and designed using the latest international methods, with Egyptian hands and community participation between tourism investors and the Red Sea Governorate.

Furthermore, the shops and restaurants along the walkway are designed to align with the visual identity of the tourist city. The project aims to integrate distinctive energy-saving and environmentally friendly lighting, promoting sustainability and eco-friendly practices.

In conclusion, the new tourist walkway in Hurghada is a significant addition to the area’s tourism infrastructure, providing both a visually appealing space for tourists and job opportunities for the local community.
