The agent of Egyptian football superstar Mohamed Salah, Ramy Abbas, recently made a statement regarding Salah’s injury and the decision to send him back to England for treatment. Salah sustained an injury before the end of the first half of the match between Egypt and Ghana in the African Cup of Nations group stage, which ended in a draw with two goals for each side.
Abbas took to his X platform account on Monday to share the news, revealing that Salah’s injury is more serious than initially anticipated and that he will be out of commission for 21-28 days, rather than just missing two games. Abbas also stated that Salah’s best chance at participating in the current AFCON is by undergoing intensive rehabilitation in the UK and rejoining the team as soon as he is fit.
Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp announced on Sunday that Salah would be returning to England for rehabilitation, with the possibility of his return if the Egyptian national team reaches the final of the tournament.
The decision to send Salah back to England demonstrates the seriousness of his injury and the commitment to ensuring that he receives the best possible treatment for a swift recovery. It also reflects the importance of Salah’s participation in the AFCON and the efforts being made to maximize his chances of rejoining the team if his recovery progresses as expected.
Salah’s absence from the Egyptian national team will undoubtedly be felt, but the priority is his health and well-being. All eyes will now be on Salah’s rehabilitation process, with the hope that he will be able to rejoin the team in time to contribute to their success in the tournament.
