The Tourism and Antiquities Ministry, represented by the Egyptian Tourist Authority, took part in the 2024 Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT). The Egyptian pavilion at the exhibition was inaugurated by Egypt’s Ambassador in Moscow, Nazih al-Nagari, in the presence of CEO of the Egyptian Tourist Authority, Amr al-Qadi. Also present were Ahmed el Yamani, who oversees the Russian file in the Central Administration of Tourist Offices at the Authority, and Counselor at the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow, Ahmed Medhat.

During the exhibition, Amr al-Qadi engaged in a series of meetings with officials and representatives from prominent Russian tour operators like “Biblio Globus,” “Coral Travel,” “Anex,” and “Intourist.” The discussions focused on exploring ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation to promote various tourist destinations in Egypt. Specifically, they delved into topics such as the Journey of the Holy Family in Egypt and the Egyptian State’s efforts to revive the Holy Family path. The “Great Transfiguration” project in Saint Catherine city was also highlighted during the discussions.

The Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT) is a significant annual event and Russia’s largest and longest-running travel exhibition. With over 1,600 participating companies and representatives from 182+ destinations, MITT serves as a crucial meeting point for the travel industry. It provides a valuable opportunity for participants to reconnect with industry colleagues and clients.

Furthermore, MITT offers a platform for participants to raise awareness about their destinations, gain insights into the Russian travel market, and assess the demand for their services. It is a valuable opportunity for industry players to showcase their offerings and engage with a diverse audience of travel professionals and consumers.

Participation in events like MITT enables the Egyptian Tourist Authority to showcase Egypt’s diverse and rich tourism offerings to a global audience. By engaging with key stakeholders in the Russian travel industry, the Authority can foster partnerships, promote Egypt as a premier tourist destination, and attract more visitors to the country.

Overall, the Egyptian Tourist Authority’s participation in the 2024 Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition was a successful endeavor that allowed them to strengthen ties with Russian tour operators, showcase Egypt’s unique attractions, and highlight the country’s commitment to promoting cultural and historical tourism experiences.
