Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly praised the initiative of the Ramadan 15 iftar banquet in the working-class neighborhood of Matariyah in Cairo, calling it a demonstration of the creativity and generosity of the Egyptian people. The banquet, organized by a dedicated team, was lauded by Madbouly during a meeting at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital on Wednesday, 27th of March, 2024.
Madbouly expressed his gratitude towards the event organizers for their hard work and dedication, encouraging them to continue the initiative in the future. The mass iftar banquet brought together thousands of locals, volunteers from different parts of the country, as well as foreign nationals and non-Muslims. The iftar banquet, which took place for the 10th consecutive year, attracted around 400 volunteers who set up approximately 700 tables across the streets and alleys of Matariyah. These tables were adorned with decorations and filled with food prepared by members of the local community. While there was no official headcount, organizers estimated that as many as 30,000 individuals attended the event to break their fast at sunset.
The success of the mass iftar banquet reflects the generosity and hospitality of the Egyptian people, who came together to share a meal and celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
