The Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, under the directives of Ambassador Soha Gendi, has been actively following up on the conditions of Egyptian communities abroad and addressing their complaints and inquiries. Recently, the Ministry received several pleas for assistance from the Egyptian community in Kuwait regarding the expiration of their national identification numbers and the resulting complications in renewing their passports.

In response to this issue, the Ministry sought the opinion of the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait regarding the petitions submitted by Egyptian citizens. The Ministry of Immigration expressed its appreciation for the prompt approval from the Ministry of Interior to renew the passports of individuals whose national ID cards have expired. The renewal period was extended to one year and three months, instead of just one year, to align with the residency permit regulations in Kuwait. This decision was made in order to support and facilitate the lives of Egyptians residing in Kuwait.

The cooperation and coordination between the two ministries highlights the concerted efforts being made to provide support and assistance to Egyptians living abroad. The Ministry of Immigration also extended its gratitude to Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Interior, for his ongoing cooperation in resolving the issue faced by Egyptian citizens in Kuwait. It was emphasized that the Egyptian state is committed to offering support and assistance to its citizens abroad, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who attaches great importance to this matter.

The Ministry of Immigration’s strategy focuses on strengthening the bond between Egyptians living abroad and their homeland, while also safeguarding their interests and addressing their challenges. In line with this strategy, the Ministry continues to actively support Egyptian communities worldwide and aims to directly engage with them to address any problems or obstacles they may encounter.

It was further pointed out that the prioritization of the file of Egyptians abroad comes directly from the presidential directives, which emphasize the importance of sustaining communication and resolving any issues or crises faced by Egyptians living outside of the country.

In conclusion, the Ministry’s commitment to supporting and assisting Egyptians abroad, as well as its dedication to maintaining direct communication with Egyptian communities worldwide, underscores the government’s efforts to address the needs and challenges of its citizens living abroad. This approach aligns with the overarching goal of ensuring the well-being and protection of Egyptians living outside of their home country.
