Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the ties between the two countries, which has been demonstrated through the exchange of official visits and meetings. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s visit to Nairobi in July for the 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto was a significant step in enhancing the relationship between Egypt and Kenya.

During the visit, President Sisi and President Ruto discussed various issues of mutual interest and also attended the summit of the Heads of State and Government of COMESA in Zambia. Additionally, they met in Paris at the International Summit “New Global Finance Compact” in June 2023.

The meeting between Minister Eldin and Minister Duale focused on exploring new opportunities for collaboration between Egypt’s military production companies and their Kenyan counterparts in different manufacturing sectors. The Kenyan Minister expressed his appreciation for the strong and friendly ties between the two countries and praised Egypt’s crucial role in the region and internationally, especially in the fight against terrorism.

He commended the Military Production Ministry for its efforts in meeting the Egyptian Armed Forces’ needs for ammunition, weapons, equipment, and electronic systems, all manufactured using the latest technologies.

The discussions between the two Ministers highlighted the potential for deeper cooperation between Egypt and Kenya in the defense and military production sectors. Both sides recognized the importance of sharing expertise and resources to enhance the capabilities of their respective armed forces and promote stability and security in the region.

The meeting also touched upon the importance of joint training programs, technology transfers, and capacity-building initiatives to further strengthen the partnership between Egypt and Kenya in the defense industry.

Minister Eldin and Minister Duale reiterated their commitment to expanding collaboration between their countries and emphasized the need for continuous dialogue and exchange of knowledge to achieve shared objectives and promote mutual interests.

In conclusion, the meeting between the Egyptian and Kenyan defense ministers underscored the determination of both countries to deepen their cooperation and strengthen their ties in various fields, particularly in the defense and military production sectors. By fostering closer relations and working together towards common goals, Egypt and Kenya aim to contribute to peace, security, and development in the region.
