Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar recently met with the Board Chairman of the Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations (EFIA), Moharam Helal, and his delegation to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in exporting medicines and medical cosmetics to African countries.

During the meeting on Friday, March 15, 2024, a spokesperson for the Health Ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, stated that the minister encouraged EFIA members to establish a workgroup with select African countries to visit the Arab Company for Drug Industries and Medical Appliances (ACDIMA) and explore their significant exporting capabilities.

Emphasizing the importance of investments in the health sector, the minister highlighted the need to expand healthcare services for citizens and increase investments in the sector’s infrastructure. He mentioned the recent investment incentives approved by the cabinet aimed at expanding the construction and refurbishment of hospitals and health units to ensure the quality of healthcare services in all governorates.

The minister was informed of EFIA’s proposal to renovate a family health unit in Menoufia. In response, the minister directed the provision of logistical support for the renovation of the unit, which caters to 17,410 citizens across various medical specialties.

The discussions between the Health Minister and EFIA reflect a shared commitment to advancing healthcare services and promoting exports of pharmaceuticals and medical products to African nations. By fostering collaboration between Egyptian investors and African countries, both parties aim to tap into new markets and enhance the availability of essential healthcare products across the continent.

The minister’s focus on infrastructure investment aligns with broader efforts to improve healthcare delivery and accessibility for all citizens. By leveraging the expertise and resources of investors, the health sector in Egypt can undergo significant developments, leading to improved healthcare outcomes and increased investment opportunities in the industry.

Overall, the meeting between the Health Minister and EFIA underscores the importance of collaboration and strategic partnerships in driving growth and innovation in the healthcare sector. By working together, both parties can create sustainable solutions that benefit not only the Egyptian population but also contribute to the development of healthcare systems in African countries.
