During the meeting, the minister was briefed on the company’s profile and its accomplishments in the past period. One noteworthy achievement is the company’s large laboratory, capable of analyzing 100,000 samples annually. This facility enables genetic analyses for couples planning to marry, early screening of hereditary diseases in newborns, and early detection of conditions such as breast cancer, colon cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and arterial diseases.
Additionally, the laboratory is equipped with devices for analyzing wastewater to identify areas affected by epidemics or contaminated with pollutants, chemical waste, or narcotic substances.
One of the focal points of the discussion was the potential establishment of a state-of-the-art laboratory in Badr City for genetic testing, as well as water and food analyses.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, emphasized the significance of this potential collaboration and the positive impact it could have on advancing healthcare services in Egypt.
The meeting underscored the importance of leveraging advanced technology and expertise to enhance the capabilities of the healthcare sector, with a focus on preventative measures and early detection of diseases.
The collaboration with G42 Healthcare has the potential to significantly contribute to these efforts, with the establishment of a modern laboratory in Badr City representing a major step forward in advancing genetic testing and environmental analyses in Egypt.
