Egyptian Emigration Minister Soha Gendi has declared that the promotion of investment by Egyptian expatriates is a top priority for the ministry in 2024. She emphasized that the ministry will be offering more saving incentives for Egyptian expats and will be encouraging more investments in hard currency.
In a meeting with Gihan Hafez, the social responsibility director general of the Housing & Development Bank, Gendi discussed potential means of cooperation in relation to the ministry’s initiatives. She also reviewed the initiatives that have contributed to attracting more investments from Egyptian expats to the homeland. Gendi also mentioned presidential initiatives, such as Survival Boats, aimed at eliminating illegal emigration.
Gendi also highlighted the role of the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs, Migration, and Reintegration (EGC) in providing training to youth to prepare them to enter the international labor market. She also mentioned the establishment of the national emigration center under the directives of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli to support nationwide employment mechanisms.
Hafez expressed the bank’s commitment to providing support to needy villages and hard-to-reach border areas through collaboration with civil organizations as part of their social responsibility efforts. She emphasized the bank’s interest in social responsibility and sustainable development.
Both parties agreed to work together to establish a framework for fruitful cooperation in the areas of training for employment. The discussions between the emigration ministry and the Housing & Development Bank signify a commitment to promoting investment by Egyptian expats and supporting sustainable development initiatives. This cooperation aims to create opportunities for Egyptians abroad to contribute to the development of their homeland while also addressing social responsibility concerns within Egypt.
