Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry recently reiterated Egypt’s warning about the threats of any potential military operation in Rafah City in the Gaza Strip during a phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Ahmed Abou Zeid.
Shoukry also emphasized Egypt’s steadfast rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their territories or to undermine the Palestinian cause.
The conversation between the two ministers also centered on collaborative efforts to secure a ceasefire and to facilitate the exchange of detainees in the Gaza Strip.
Blinken praised Egypt for its ongoing mediation efforts between Israel and Hamas, as well as its initiatives to provide humanitarian assistance to the enclave.
Additionally, they delved into the latest developments in the Red Sea region and the potential implications for international trade traffic. Shoukry cautioned that any escalation of conflict in the region could jeopardize the stability, security, and interests of several nations.
