The Minister of Military Production, Mohamed Salah Eddin Mostafa, recently held a meeting with Robert Falk, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Tech Egypt, to discuss the latest developments in establishing Egypt’s first station for treating municipal solid waste and converting it into electrical energy. The meeting highlighted Egypt’s commitment to encouraging environmental investments and involving the private sector in projects that support environmental sustainability, particularly in the field of waste recycling.

During the meeting, Minister Mostafa reiterated Egypt’s interest in creating a supportive climate to encourage environmental investments and to involve the private sector in projects that support environmental sustainability. He emphasized the importance of projects aimed at establishing and improving the efficiency of waste recycling facilities for the country. Mostafa also mentioned his ministry’s eagerness to contribute to various national projects that support Egypt’s comprehensive and sustainable development by utilizing the surplus production capacities of its various companies.

The minister informed participants that his ministry, in cooperation with Green Tech Egypt and OAK companies, has already commenced the executive implementation of the project to establish a treatment plant in the Abu Rawash area in Giza Governorate. This treatment station is designed to convert waste, with a daily capacity of 1,200 tons, into electricity at a rate of 30 megawatts per hour. The primary goals of the station include cleaning the environment, enhancing climate security in Egypt, and improving the living conditions of citizens.

During the meeting, Robert Falk provided an update on the executive procedures for starting the project. He also commended the ongoing coordination between the various parties involved in the project’s implementation, expressing confidence that the project will have a significant positive impact on the environment and the Egyptian national economy.

Falk also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Egyptian state to expand projects aimed at diversifying its energy sources, particularly in the realm of clean and renewable energy. He also praised the state’s commitment to integrating the private sector within the waste management system, recognizing the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing environmental challenges.

Overall, the meeting between Minister Mostafa and Robert Falk demonstrated the strong commitment of both the government and private sector to advancing environmental sustainability through innovative projects such as the establishment of waste treatment stations. The collaborative efforts of all parties involved, including government entities, private companies, and state institutions, underscore the dedication to addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development in Egypt.
