Egypt has recently put forth several humanitarian proposals and initiatives to address the ongoing crisis in Sudan. These propositions were presented during Egypt’s involvement in the Paris conference aimed at supporting the war-torn nation, with the ultimate goal of alleviating the adverse effects of warfare on the Sudanese population.

Among the proposed initiatives are plans to establish relief warehouses in close proximity to the Sudanese border, provide crisis intervention measures, dispatch medical teams to operate in Sudanese hospitals while equipping them with necessary medical supplies, and deploying mobile medical teams throughout Sudan. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced on its official social media page that Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, Ambassador Hamdi Loza, led the Egyptian delegation during the two-day conference held in Paris.

During the conference, Ambassador Loza outlined Egypt’s key objectives and efforts to address the crisis. These included the coordination and alignment of various mediation initiatives, with the aim of achieving a ceasefire. Additionally, discussions were focused on determining the most suitable approach to safeguard Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and prevent the collapse of legitimate state institutions.

Furthermore, the proposals sought to establish a platform for joint collaboration that empowers Sudanese civil forces to develop a unified vision, initiate a comprehensive political process, and ensure donor countries fulfill their commitments made during the 2023 humanitarian relief conference in Geneva. Efforts were also directed towards implementing measures to halt military support provided to conflicting Sudanese parties.

In addition to participating in the conference, the deputy foreign minister engaged in discussions with representatives from various nations and international organizations. These interactions aimed to convey Egypt’s perspectives on the crisis in Sudan and foster consensus towards finding effective solutions.

Egypt’s proactive involvement in addressing the Sudanese crisis reflects its commitment to humanitarian causes and regional stability. By providing tangible proposals and actively participating in international conferences, Egypt demonstrates its dedication to assisting war-torn nations and promoting peace and prosperity in the region.

Overall, Egypt’s efforts and initiatives towards addressing the Sudanese crisis underscore the country’s role as a responsible member of the international community and a proactive force in humanitarian assistance and conflict resolution.
