Minister of Public Business Sector Mahmoud Essmat has underscored the significance of collaborating with the private sector in order to achieve the goal of massive investments, increase exports, reduce imports, and provide high-quality industry inputs to private companies. The ministry issued a statement on Sunday detailing Essmat’s remarks during a tour of the development project at the Egyptian Spinning and Weaving Company and Dyeing of El-Beida in Kafr al-Dawar City, Beheira Governorate. This visit was part of the ministry’s strategy to address implementation obstacles to ensure projects are completed within specified timelines.
During the tour, Essmat met with project consultants and executing contractors, alongside other key figures like Engineer Ahmed Shaker, Engineer Mohamed al-Khudrawi, and Mohamed Daabis. They assessed the progress of the Industrial Castle project at the El-Beida site, which encompasses six integrated factories for spinning and weaving spread over 337,000 square meters. The focus was on ensuring adherence to construction schedules, machine installation plans, and preventing delays in equipment delivery.
Essmat closely examined the spinning factory covering 36,250 square meters with 88,128 spindles, a weaving factory spanning 20,900 square meters with 384 weaving looms, and a dyeing, bleaching, printing, and finishing factory on 53,000 square meters with a production capacity of 54 million meters annually. Additionally, there is a garment factory on 1,500 square meters able to produce 7.5 million pieces annually.
The minister stressed the importance of expediting work on the spinning factory as other factories in the complex rely on its output. He urged for a swift completion of the project according to the specified timetable, emphasizing the collaboration with industry partners from the private sector for marketing and sales. This includes providing the necessary products to meet their production requirements and offering opportunities for textile manufacturers to utilize additional capacities in finishing and dyeing factories.
Essmat also highlighted the need for implementing training and rehabilitation programs for workers in conjunction with the training center at the Egyptian Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla al-Kubra. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness among workers about the significance of the Industrial Castle project for industry development in Kafr al-Dawar.
In conclusion, Minister Essmat’s visit to the Egyptian Spinning and Weaving Company and Dyeing of El-Beida underscored the government’s commitment to fostering partnerships with the private sector to drive economic growth, enhance exports, and bolster the industrial sector. The focus on timely project completion and collaboration with industry counterparts reflects a proactive approach towards achieving economic development goals in Egypt.
