The Central Bank of Egypt will be implementing a temporary work suspension for all banks in the country on Thursday, in honor of the anniversary of the January 25 Revolution and Police Day. This announcement was made in a statement released by the CBE on Sunday, with the resumption of bank operations scheduled for January 28. Since Friday and Saturday are the weekend in Egypt, this holiday period will extend for three days.
In addition to the bank suspension, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has declared January 25 as an official paid holiday for workers in various sectors including ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, and private sector companies.
