During the meeting on January 17, 2024, the cabinet led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly approved a draft resolution to re-form and re-organize the Supreme Council for Ports. This council will now be known as the “Supreme Council for Ports and Logistics.” The council includes members such as the ministers of supply and internal trade, planning and economic development, environment, trade and industry, civil aviation and local development, as well as a representative from the private sector’s logistics sector.
Additionally, the cabinet also agreed on a draft resolution to re-establish the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), with some amendments and comments from the ministers.
Furthermore, the cabinet endorsed the continued use of free transit visas until the end of April 2024.
The decision to reform and reorganize the Supreme Council for Ports reflects a shift in focus towards emphasizing the importance of logistics in the overall operation of ports.
