Tony Tetuila, a veteran singer and former member of the group The Remedies, has come forward with claims that his ex-bandmates Eedris Abdulkareem and Eddy Remedy conspired to kick him out of the band, despite the fact that his mother was the initial sponsor of the group. This revelation comes after Eedris Abdulkareem alleged in a recent podcast interview that The Remedies split due to Eddy’s greed and his desire to no longer share music revenue equally with Tetuila. Abdulkareem claimed that he went to Tetuila and told him to start preparing for a solo career after their meeting.

Tetuila, however, took to his social media page to refute these claims, stating that Abdulkareem and Eddy Remedy had ganged up against him. He expressed his heartbreak and feeling of being shattered after being kicked out of the band. Tetuila credited Daddy Showkey and Blackface for their encouragement and support in helping him build a successful solo career.

He emphasized that it was his mother who initially provided the money to sponsor the group, and he felt betrayed by the actions of his former bandmates. Tetuila also praised Daddy Showkey for encouraging him to pursue a solo career and acknowledged Blackface for teaching him how to write his own songs. He expressed his disappointment in Eedris Abdulkareem’s claims of making sacrifices for the Nigerian music industry, referring to him as a liar.

On the other hand, Eddy Remedy, another former member of The Remedies, disputed the claim that the money Eedris Abdulkareem collected from Tony Tetuila’s mother was used to sponsor the group. He stated that he was not aware of any such agreement until the rumor broke out. Eddy claimed that he used the $5,000 his parents gave him after completing his tertiary education to fund the group.

The controversy surrounding the split of The Remedies highlights the conflicting perspectives of the former band members. While Eedris Abdulkareem accused Eddy of greed and sabotaging the revenue sharing, Tony Tetuila and Eddy Remedy have refuted these claims, asserting their own versions of the events leading to the group’s disbandment.

This public feud within the Nigerian music industry sheds light on the complexities and challenges faced by music groups and their members. It also underlines the importance of individual support and mentorship in navigating career transitions. Despite the discord among former bandmates, Tony Tetuila’s successful solo career stands as a testament to his resilience and talent, with the support of influential figures like Daddy Showkey and Blackface. The conflicting accounts of the band’s sponsorship further emphasize the need for open communication and transparency in financial matters within music groups.

As the controversy continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the enduring impact of interpersonal dynamics and financial arrangements on the music industry. The contrasting narratives presented by the former members of The Remedies raise important questions about loyalty, integrity, and the challenges of collaboration in the world of entertainment.
