The State Chairmen Forum of the Labour Party (LP) has called for the removal of the National Chairman of the Party, Julius Abure, to ensure the victory of the party’s candidate in an upcoming governorship election. The appeal by the LP state chairmen comes after a court ruling that demands the departure of the National Chairman, Julius Abure. This action is aimed at avoiding any adverse effects on the chances of the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election.
A factional chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Edozie Njoku, recently spoke to newsmen in Lagos, indicating the heightened political activity ahead of the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State. Additionally, Ken Imansuangbon, a leading governorship aspirant of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, stated that the upcoming battle for the soul of Edo State will be between the masses and the state and federal governments.

The inadequate support of the Western Nigeria Security Network, known as the Amotekun Corps, by the governors in the Southwest in the face of rising insecurity has raised concerns. This lack of strong backing for the security network in the region represents a potential red flag for the fate that awaits routine calls for the establishment of state police.
The mentioned political activities across various states of Nigeria highlight the significant developments that could have an impact on the future of the country’s political landscape. The governorship elections, security issues, and the internal affairs of political parties are integral to shaping the democratic process and influencing the direction of the nation’s governance. The involvement of political leaders and aspiring candidates through statements and actions could contribute to setting the tone for significant changes and strategies in the country’s political realm.
