A seven-acre solar-powered irrigation scheme in Aromo Sub-county, Lira District, has become a lifeline for farmers battling severe drought.
During a farmer field day on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, dozens gathered at the Dam Odoca scheme to learn crop selection, field management, disease control and irrigation scheduling.
The Dam Odoca scheme was implemented by the Ministry of Water and Environment through the Multipurpose Bulk Water Development Department, with funding from UK Export Finance and the Government of Uganda.
