Recently, I met an American doctor. I immediately asked him how America has managed to get the best out of its scientists and artists. Instead of answering my question, he reminded me that science is multidisciplinary.
Of course, we got that memo in Uganda. Our scientists believe complex real-world problems require different fields—like biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics—to work side by side.
