The bishops of Chad say they are “concerned” about the unfortunate events that occurred in N’Djamena on February 27 and 28, 2024, which once again have brought grief to Chadian families, and they “deplore the loss of human lives” and “the climate of mistrust” that this situation can generate.
In a press release signed by the metropolitan archbishop of NDjamena Djitangar Goetbe Edmond, the bishops of Chad state: “We have learned with dismay the unfortunate events that occurred in N’Djamena on February 27 and 28, 2024, which once again have brought grief to Chadian families, we deplore the loss of human lives and the climate of mistrust that this situation can generate.”
The conference of bishops of Chad reiterates its strong condemnation of all forms of violence and anything that undermines cohesion and social peace.
