In the shadow of the opaque decisions of the Sacred Union for the Nation in the DR Congo, a troubling trend is emerging: the designation of the Bumba-Iyeli ticket with unproven effectiveness and a scandalous past. This practice, far from reflecting the aspirations of the people, would maintain a harmful status quo, devoid of vision and ambition for the Congolese capital.

By sacrificing transparency and ignoring the opinions of the people of Kinshasa, this approach risks consolidating a regime disconnected from the real needs of the population. Indeed, perpetuating a system that keeps a dirty capital devoid of innovative projects represents a danger to the beating heart of the DRC. It is imperative to recognize the urgency of restoring democratic vigor and prosperity to Kinshasa.

By perpetuating antidemocratic practices, the Sacred Union for the Nation is risking compromising the future of an entire province, and by extension, that of the entire country. The duo of candidates Daniel Bumba and Eddy Iyeli for the governorship and vice-governorship of Kinshasa has garnered significant interest, notably due to their choice to run as independents.

An analysis of their statements, especially those of Daniel Bumba on crucial issues such as the budget and the economy, reveals the need for a thorough debate to assess the relevance of their proposals compared to those of other candidates. The decision not to run as members of the Sacred Union raises questions about their political vision and strategies for the city-province of Kinshasa.

It is imperative to engage in a democratic, transparent, and constructive debate to enlighten voters about the issues and choices offered by this unique pair of candidates. In a political landscape where the governance of Kinshasa has too often been tainted by scandals and personal interests, the aspiration for competent, honest leaders who are resolutely committed to the public interest is becoming increasingly urgent.

After the terms of Kimbuta Andre and Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka, breaking away from excessive politicization and opportunistic alliances that have long prevailed and relegating vision and competence to the background would be criminal. The future of Kinshasa requires a governor with proven expertise in public management, aware of local issues, and determined to bring true renewal to the Congolese capital.

This new leader must embody integrity, free of any suspicion, and be invested with a fervent mission: to restore the splendor of Kinshasa and place the collective interest at the heart of every decision. It is time to turn the page on political opportunism and embrace bold leadership dedicated to the awakening and prosperity of Kinshasa, the beautiful, in all its diversity and potential.
