Culture is bedrock of society, says Katikkiro Mayiga

The Katikkiro of Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga, has described culture as the bedrock of society, saying it defines people’s identity, promotes unity and can be used to drive social and economic development.

He made the remarks during a meeting between Buganda Kingdom officials and representatives of Ipsos, a global market research and consulting company, held at Bulange Mengo on Wednesday.

Katikkiro Mayiga said culture goes beyond traditional practices, arguing that it shapes people’s identity, including their clans, relationships and social responsibilities.
