The High Court in Kampala has ordered Paramount Hospital Kampala Limited to pay Medequip Uganda Limited over Shs48 million for failing to clear payment for an X-ray machine supplied under a 2019 agreement.
In his ruling, Acting Judge Simon Peter M. Kinobe found that the hospital breached its contractual obligations after taking delivery of a Fuji CR System (brand new) Advance Smart Full Option X-ray machine.
Justice Kinobe ordered Paramount Hospital to pay Shs42.018 million in special damages, Shs6 million in general damages, interest and costs of the suit.
