The subject was at the center of the press conference held on Friday, March 15, by Dr. Richard Bileckot, Inspector General of Health.

The private healthcare sector needs cleaning up. It was to draw the attention of the stakeholders in this sector that Dr. Richard Bileckot, Inspector General of Health, held a press conference last Friday, March 15, at the Ministry of Health and Population in Brazzaville.

During this meeting, Dr. Richard Bileckot talked about the implementation this year of a monitoring and alert system in order to clean up the Health sector for the sanitary well-being of the population.
“We have identified healthcare facilities, some of which are compliant and must strive to provide quality care within the healthcare framework, while others operate illegally and even endanger the health of others, especially when it’s purely for profit,” said the Inspector General of Health, as quoted from congomediatime.com.

Sanctions will follow for those who do not comply. “These sanctions range from fines to closure, we will enforce the law,” he said.

Present at the meeting were representatives from the National Union of Economic Operators of Congo (UNOC), the National Order of Physicians, the Private Healthcare Sector Alliance, and the administrative police.
