These checks concern various sectors, including retail stores, bakeries, urban transport, pharmacies, medical offices, and private schools.

The Ministry of Commerce through the Directorate of Competition and the Repression of Commercial Fraud launched on Wednesday, March 27, controls on businesses operated by foreigners living in Congo. These checks cover several sectors including retail trade, bakeries, urban transport, pharmacies, medical offices, and private schools. These measures aim to emphasize the importance of respecting national laws in each sector of activity. This was highlighted by Philippe Nsondé Mondzie, Director General of Competition and the Repression of Commercial Frauds.

It should be noted that the owners of these businesses had until March 25, 2024, to comply with these provisions. Beyond this date, strict controls will be carried out and any violators will be sanctioned according to the current law. These checks will be extended to the 12 departments of Congo.
