The head of state received an invitation from his Equato-Guinean counterpart, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for the 24th ordinary session of the CEEAC.

Denis Sassou N’Guesso granted an audience on February 28 in Pointe-Noire to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Equatorial Guinea, Siméon Oyono Esono Angue. The Equato-Guinean minister was carrying a message from his president, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The current president of the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC), Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, wishes for the presence of his Congolese counterpart at the upcoming 24th ordinary session of the conference of heads of state and government of the CEEAC in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea.

“The CEEAC summit will take place on March 9 in Malabo. While waiting for this date, the summit of heads of state and government has already begun with technical meetings on peace, security, justice, and trade. President Obiang has instructed me to invite His Excellency Denis Sassou N’Guesso to attend,” said the Guinean diplomat after the audience.

Denis Sassou N’Guesso and Siméon Oyono Esono Angue also discussed bilateral cooperation between Congo and Equatorial Guinea.

It should be noted that the 24th ordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the CEEAC will be organized on the theme “CEEAC at a crossroads: towards the consolidation of reform to meet the challenges of regional integration in Central Africa.”

The meeting’s general objective will be to ensure the regular functioning of the community’s institutions, to control and monitor the implementation of policies and decisions approved by the community bodies.
