A memorial service for the late opposition leader Guy Brice Parfait Kolélas was organized on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the capital of the Congo.

“The commemoration of the death of Guy Brice Parfait Kolélas not only calls us to have a pious thought for the repose of his soul but also to reaffirm humanist ideas. Like faithful consecrated Christians, great men never die. Their ideas remain immortal. That is why we have gathered in this place in support of our Soldier,” said Pastor Urbain Loubacky of the Salvation Army church.

The current leader of this Congolese opposition party, Joseph Badiabiogarde, holds the memory of an exemplary patriot and a model democrat dear to his mentor. “I have a challenge in taking the reins of this party. Guy Brice Parfait Kolelas was an example of a patriot and a model democrat, a enlightened and charismatic leader like no other. His journey has greatly impacted me. Generous, tolerant, and kind, the founder of our party was an inspiring man who knew how to surround himself with the right collaborators,” he emphasized.
