Congo-Pay will be implemented by the Agency for the Development of the Digital Economy (ADEN).

Congo is going to have a digital platform for conducting electronic financial transactions at the national level. The initiative comes from the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy. The project’s goal is to strengthen financial inclusion, promote banking, and encourage the dematerialization of currency in the country. It will be implemented by the Agency for the Development of the Digital Economy (ADEN), a technical structure responsible for implementing the government’s policy in this area.

It was to discuss the practical modalities of launching Congo-Pay that the Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy, Léon Juste Ibombo, met with the Director General of the Central African Monetary Interbank Group (Gimac), Valentin Mbozo’o, and the Director of Médiasoft Lafayette, Bakary Kamara, on March 25 in Brazzaville.

“As part of this project, we need a partner like Médiasoft la Fayette, with whom we already have a framework of collaboration through ADEN, which has the government’s expertise to develop the digital economy in Congo. Through this project, we can conduct digital transactions at a lower cost,” highlighted Minister Léon Juste Ibombo.
