An All Progressives Congress, APC support group in Imo State, Imo Progressives Movement, IPM, recently paid tribute to a number of notable individuals in the state. These included Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, former governor of the state, Barr. Chukwuma Ekomaru, SAN, the husband of the state deputy governor, Hon. Uche Nwosu, former Chief of Staff to the state government, and Sen. Ostia Izunaso. The event, held on the 21st of April, served as a platform to honor their contributions to the party and the state.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) along with the Police collaborated to rescue a pregnant woman who had been assaulted by her partner. The rescue took place in the early hours of Wednesday, following a distress call received by the DSVA from a mandated reporter. The agency spokesperson, Adejoke Ladenegan-Oginni, released a statement in response to the incident, condemning the act of violence and emphasizing the agency’s commitment to protecting survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The Lagos State Government has set up 20 live Viewing Centres for residents to watch the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
