The validation workshop of the resource mobilization strategy document of the Observatory for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Equity (Opeg) is open this Thursday, March 28 in NDjamena.
Organized by Opeg, the Ministry of Women, Child Protection in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the workshop aims to validate the draft document of the resource mobilization strategy of Opeg for adoption. “It is part of the mobilization activity and will allow Opeg to have a tool that will help and guide the search for funding for priority activities,” informs the FAO Representative Marc Mankoussou.
Institutional mechanism provided by the national gender policy, the Observatory for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Equity, created on July 19, 2022, is invested with the mission of monitoring, controlling, and evaluating progress in promoting gender and women’s rights. It is in this context that the three agencies of the United Nations system, namely UNFPA, FAO, and OHCHR through the project to support the establishment of Opeg financed by the Peacebuilding Fund, have proposed to provide technical and financial support to the Observatory. “The development of this strategy is requested to enable Opeg to have a reference and quality document to take its first steps. We ask the participants, including the executive secretariat of the observatory, the Ministry of Women, and technical partners, to support Opeg in validating the resource mobilization strategy, which will enable the implementation of major guidelines for promoting gender equality and equity in Chad,” said the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Women and Child Protection, Moudalbaye Noudandissem Appoline.
During the workshop, several themes will be discussed such as the diagnosis of Opeg’s resource mobilization potential, the plan for mobilizing resources and priority actions, and the plan for close support from the Opeg team.
