The President of the National Agency for Election Management (Ange), Ahmed Bartchiret, met on Saturday, March 16, 2024 with mayors of municipalities, square chiefs, and neighborhood delegates to discuss their contributions to the success of the upcoming presidential election scheduled for May 6.

The objective of the meeting is to mobilize all stakeholders to better conduct the electoral process. According to President Ahmed Bartchiret, for the success of the electoral calendar, it is necessary to involve everyone. “It is necessary for you to be involved in monitoring the poster boards, collecting complaints, distributing cards, and especially assisting voters in identifying polling stations,” he said.

Furthermore, the President of Ange asks square chiefs, neighborhood delegates, and mayors to mobilize the population for the massive collection of voter cards. “Many of you still have uncollected voter cards, the National Agency for Election Management, through me, is counting on you to mobilize the population in your respective neighborhoods and squares for the massive collection of their voter cards,” he added.

Recognizing the contribution and courage of local actors to the success of the electoral process, Ange, through President Ahmed Bartchiret, has increased bonuses. “We have taken into account all these factors to increase your bonuses from 25,000 FCFA to 50,000 for square chiefs, and 75,000 for neighborhood delegates,” announced President Ahmed Bartchiret.
