The personal envoy of French President Emmanuel Macron for Africa, Jean Marie Bockel, is expected in N’Djamena on Wednesday, March 6. He will stay there until March 10, 2024.

In N’Djamena, Bockel will discuss, in consultation with the transitional President Mahamat Idriss Déby, the future of the military partnership between Chad and France. He will also meet with the transitional Prime Minister Succès Masra, as well as representatives of Chadian institutions, civil society, and the business community, in a listening approach to build the general framework of a renewed partnership, in the best interests and expectations of both countries, and as close as possible to the needs expressed by the Chadians.

In addition to Chad, Emmanuel Macron’s personal envoy, as part of his mission to define a comprehensive framework for the renewal of France’s military partnership with African countries hosting a French military presence, has already visited Côte d’Ivoire and will soon visit Gabon and Senegal.
