The Cape Verdean Football Cup, 2023-2024 edition, begins to be contested on the 20th and 21st of the current month in its preliminary phase, the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF), the organizing entity of the competition announced today.
According to the calendar presented to the press, for the inaugural round, in other words, the first knockout stage, the winner of the Santo Antão Norte Cup (Paulense) will host the team representing São Nicolau (Atlético) from pot 1, while the winners of the cups from the sport regions of Santo Antão Sul (Sanjoanense) and São Vicente are exempt.
For pot 2, the winner of the Maio Cup (Barreirense) will host the representative from Sal (Palmeira), with the winner of the Boa Vista Cup exempt in this round.
In pot 3, Vulcânico from Fogo (winner of the Fogo Cup) will host Académica da Praia (winner of the Santiago Sul Cup), while Morabeza from Brava and Varandinha from Santiago Norte are exempt in this round.
After the preliminary phase, the Cape Verdean Cup will continue to the second knockout round, scheduled for May 11th and 12th, where the four qualified teams for the “Final-four” will be determined. The semi-finals will take place on May 29th and 30th, with the final on June 1st.
