The Minister of Public Health, Malachie Manaouda, met with a delegation of traditional chiefs led by His Majesty Ditope Lindoume. Expressing their gratitude and submitting their grievances were the two main topics that motivated their visit. The traditional chiefs from the Adie Canton in Edéa met with the Minister of Public Health on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in Yaoundé.

During their discussions, the traditional guardians expressed their gratitude to the government for the improvements seen at the Charles Delangue District Medical Center. These improvements include the enhancement of the quality of care, the reception and guidance of patients, the rehabilitation of certain services, and the establishment of a dialogue framework involving traditional chiefs.

Furthermore, the delegation led by His Majesty Ditope Lindoume, the chief of the canton, submitted the population’s grievances to the Ministerial Department chief. These ranged from providing technical equipment to this health facility to elevating it to a district hospital. Feeling honored by this show of appreciation, Malachie Manaouda promised to continue efforts to ensure quality care for patients and meet equipment needs. As for the transformation of the medical center into a district hospital, he pledged to forward the request to his superiors with a favorable recommendation for validation.
