The scene took place on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the tenth stop Ebogo on the Yaoundé-Soa highway.

Under the 10 a.m. sun, two men were violently punching a driver sitting at the wheel of his green Toyota Yaris vehicle. The older man, wearing a purple t-shirt, had dismounted from his motorcycle. The younger man had emerged from his taxi. They seemed to be forcing the driver to comply, as if he were the cause of the accident they were pretending to be victims of.

The quarrel escalated when a passenger in the Yaris got out of the vehicle to help the driver. Pushing the two alleged attackers, the driver took the opportunity to get out and engage in a fight to try to fight back. However, the onlookers, made up of drivers and passengers trapped in the traffic jam, did not let the savagery play out on the public road.

While everyone was fighting to calm the situation, a driver left the crowd. He opened his rear trunk, grabbed a machete in a fit of rage, and hurried towards the older alleged attacker. He pointed his weapon at him, making threats, despite having no involvement in the matter.

Feeling threatened by the machete, the man, approximately in his sixties, pulled out his trump card. He took out an automatic pistol from his pants and showed it to his opponent, causing the man with the machete to flee. The man with the pistol did not let him go immediately, chasing him for about ten meters amid the cries of frightened women and youth.

In the comments, it was mentioned that the pistol-wielding man had used the weapon on Ngousso Street, near the cemetery. It was an evening, after heavy rain, when he tried to force his way through the traffic jam. He narrowly avoided being lynched by the enraged crowd.
