The president of the Cameroonian Football Federation attended the general assembly of the Adamoua Regional League this weekend.
Many people thought that football in the Adamoua region was being neglected, but it seems they were wrong. This conclusion can be drawn from the holding of the regional football assembly, which took place over the weekend.
The meeting was attended by Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot). His presence at the meeting led to two major announcements. The first being an increase in the annual subsidy from the federation of at least 35 million francs for the Adamoua regional league. And also the construction of an international standard football stadium.
It has almost become a signature move for the president of Fécafoot to promise the construction of stadiums. The residents of Bertoua and Bafia can attest to this. In his book “L’arnaque” (“The Scam”), Jean Bruno Tagne explains that Samuel Eto’o had also made a similar promise to build a stadium in the Far North region. However, to this day, no Cameroonian city has seen the construction of a new stadium since Samuel Eto’o took over as the head of Fécafoot.
But hope remains. This includes the potential signing with Feicom for sponsorship towards the construction of the stadiums.
