The co-founder of the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation has submitted the decision to the government for validation.
A twist in the crisis within the PCRN. This Friday, March 29, a document bearing the signature of one of the party’s founders, Robert Kona, flooded the internet. The correspondence is addressed to the Minister of Territorial Administration (Minat). Its purpose is to transmit the permanent exclusion of 24 members of the party. At the top of the list is Cabral Libii, the party’s president. Other leaders recognized in 2019 by Minister Paul Atanga Nji follow. The reason given for their exclusion is their “immoderate desire to exclude the founding president of the Cameroonian Party for National Reconstruction.” The correspondence requests the government member to take note of this exclusion.
Upon reading the document, the name of the party is different from the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation. The names of the excluded members mentioned in the document are also different from the names referred to in the document. These indications raise doubts about the authenticity of this correspondence. They also call into question the author’s knowledge of the party.
As a reminder, the political bureau of the PCRN excluded Robert Kona, founder and former president of the PCRN, on March 25. The party’s secretary general, Boubakari Massardine, transmitted the decision to Minat for acknowledgement. In response, Minister Paul Atanga Nji refused to acknowledge it, citing the lack of quality and non-compliance with the party’s statutes as reasons.
Currently, the public is awaiting the minister’s response. He will undoubtedly pronounce on the respect for the statutes, the quality, and the competence of Robert Kona to exclude these members.
