The lawyers of the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation have announced that they are taking legal action against the journalist for the publication of his book.
“The Scam, he wanted to restore the greatness of Cameroonian football” is the title of Jean Bruno Tagne’s book. In this work, he aims to assess Samuel Eto’o’s performance at the helm of the Fecafoot. This objective was not well received and was deemed defamatory. Many have cited it as a relentless attack by the former campaign director of Samuel Eto’o, who did not receive a position at the federation after the victory.
As a result, a complaint has been filed against him. The statement released by Samuel Eto’o’s lawyers states that “the reading of this book reveals nothing but a general conspiracy riddled with false allegations about Mr. Samuel Eto’o Fils, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), which tarnish his image and seriously damage his honor, dignity, and respect.”
Published in 2022 by Editions du Shabel, Jean Bruno Tagne’s book revisits, among other things, Samuel Eto’o’s election campaign, negotiations, his management of the federation, the Indomitable Lions, and his relationships with various personalities in Cameroonian football, as well as the working conditions between the author and Samuel Eto’o.
