The increase is due to the expansion of the project space, from 4,200 m2 to 9,000 m2, including a large party hall and over 200 parking spaces.

Initially estimated between 32 and 35 billion CFA francs, this amount has been reevaluated to 50 billion CFA francs, representing an increase of at least 15 billion CFA francs. The construction site was visited on March 7, 2023, by Christopher J. Lamora, the United States Ambassador to Cameroon, and Filippo Scammacca del Murgo, the Italian Ambassador to Cameroon. The mayor of the Yaoundé 2 municipality, Yannick Martial Ayissi Eloundou, was also present.

“The project has increased in terms of space. We started from 4,200 m2 to 9,000 m2. We will have a very large party hall because it was noted that Yaoundé does not have a large convention center. We also have much more parking. Around 200. It will probably be the largest parking space in the capital city,” said Alain Nouaga, Founder of the company BrightView Bethesda SA, which is leading the construction project Radisson Serviced Apartment Yaoundé.

Alain Nouaga, the promoter of BrightView Bethesda (BVB), the company behind the project, stated that the current investment represents about 24-25% of the necessary financing, with the goal of reaching 30% in the coming months. The planned opening date has been pushed to mid-2026, a delay attributed to the increased scale of the project.

“This construction site is one of the few sites in Cameroon that is progressing at the necessary pace. This means there are no stops. We work very often day and night. Initially, we planned to open by the end of 2025. But with the complex parking foundations, the opening will probably be in 2026. We will have apartments for sale but we are not selling yet. We will start doing so when everything is assured. Because it is not good to take people’s money when we are not 100% sure the project will be finished on time. It can have an impact on Cameroon’s image,” explained Alain Nouaga.

The opening of this establishment, initially announced for 2025 during the laying of the foundation stone in October 2022, is now scheduled for 2026.
