President Paul Biya warns senior state officials who travel abroad without his prior authorization. Through the Minister of State Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, the head of state reminds those who violate his instructions: “Appropriate sanctions will now be taken against any senior official who dares to leave the national territory without prior authorization from the head of state.”

The individuals affected by this measure include general managers, deputy general managers, and board presidents of public enterprises and institutions. “Specific instructions have already been given to airport authorities and security forces to strictly enforce presidential instructions,” reads a correspondence from the Minister of State addressed to the Secretary General of the Prime Minister’s Services.
