In a correspondence, the Minister of Territorial Administration justifies his refusal by the violation of PCRN texts.
The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, has responded to the Secretary General of the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation, Boubakari Massardine. In a correspondence, the government official states that he cannot acknowledge the decision of the party to definitively exclude Robert Kona. Paul Atanga Nji cites the “violation of the statutes of the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN) and lack of quality” as the reason for his refusal.
The government is reacting to the correspondence in which the Secretary General of PCRN transmitted the decision of exclusion of the founder to the minister. On March 25, the Discipline Commission of the National Political Bureau of PCRN definitively excluded Robert Kona from the party, of which he is one of the founders and former president. This decision came after his suspension from the Political Bureau on March 21.
With the minister’s refusal to acknowledge the PCRN’s decision, the crisis continues within the party led by Cabral Libii. At the same time, the power struggle between Cabral Libii and the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, will also continue. The opposition leader accuses the government official of participating in the weakening and division of the party that he has been leading since May 2019.
