Merveille Patricia Fotso was stabbed in the chest on Maundy Thursday near the chapel of the Evangelical Church of Cameroon in the parish of Nyanganza.

Merveille Patricia Fotso is no more. The 26-year-old woman, a choir member, was killed last Thursday. She was with her boyfriend Warren when three drug-addicted men appeared. Warren, upon seeing armed attackers approaching them, tried to block the stab of one of them by raising his hands. However, the dagger passed through his shirt under his arm, before reaching his girlfriend above her left breast.

Transported to the regional hospital of Bertoua, the woman affectionately called Paty, a mother of one child, succumbed to her injuries on the way. Her body was deposited at the morgue of the regional hospital of Bertoua. A first suspect has already been apprehended. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and accomplices of this act. This tragedy shows that insecurity persists in cities, especially during the festive period.
