The Secretary General of the Central Committee of the RDPC, Jean Nkuete, invites the deputies and senators of the parliamentary groups of this party to a working session.

The Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Rally (RDPC), the majority party in Parliament, is convening the presidents of the parliamentary groups. The Secretary General of this body of the Flame of Democracy party plans a working session on Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m. with the deputies of the RDPC parliamentary group in the National Assembly, a group chaired by Roger Melingui. One hour later, Jean Nkuete announces another working session with the senators of the RDPC parliamentary group, led by Calvin Zang Oyono.

The communication from the Secretary General dated March 21, 2024, does not indicate the items on the agenda. However, the convening of the RDPC parliamentary groups in Parliament comes at a time when the first ordinary session of the 2024 legislative year is underway in the National Assembly and the Senate since March 5, 2024. The work is stalling due to the deadlock observed in the renewal of the bureaus of the two chambers of Parliament.

At the National Assembly, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, president since 1992, is available and committed to a new term. In the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji is unavailable for health reasons, after 10 years at the helm of the Senate. The provisional bureaus continue to preside over the parliamentary session in March, 16 days after the opening of the works, which are therefore blocked. The convening of the RDPC parliamentary groups undoubtedly announces changes or adjustments at the helm of these two parliamentary institutions, as well as within certain leading bodies of the party. It is also worth noting that these working sessions will take place two days before the celebration of the 39th anniversary of the RDPC.
