The health authorities in the Southwest region have released, in a report, the final toll of the detonation on February 11, 2024.

The explosion of a bomb at the Nkambe festivities square in Donga Mantung after the parade of the 58th youth day celebration resulted in one death and 83 injuries. According to the regional delegate of Public Health for the Northwest, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, the deceased person is a 14-year-old girl enrolled in Nyanji High School.

Rescuers transported 83 injured individuals to the regional annex hospital in Nkambe. Out of the five critical cases, all of them were airlifted to the Bamenda hospital on February 13, 2024. They received treatment at the solidarity ward before being stabilized. In addition, out of the 13 other severe cases, two were discharged, while 11 underwent orthopedic surgery, as stated in the report on the management of victims following the explosion of an improvised explosive device.
