The provisional turnover figures for the 2023 insurance market have been made public by the Association of Insurance Companies in Cameroon. According to the data from the Association of Insurance Companies in Cameroon, Axa Assurance is leading with a turnover of over 23 billion FCFA in 2023. Specifically, 23,104,976,191 FCFA.
For the company, this represents an annual increase. In 2022, Axa’s turnover was just over 22 billion FCFA, specifically 22,374,887,937 FCFA.
Following Axa is Saar, which recorded a turnover of 20,553,003,253 in 2023 and 18,076,855,462 FCFA in annual growth. At the bottom of the list is CPA, which reported a turnover of 2,465,250,807 FCFA in 2023 compared to 2,373,086,402 FCFA in 2022.
Overall, the Association of Insurance Companies in Cameroon highlights that in 2023, the turnover of the insurance market increased by 6.28%. It rose from FCFA 256.34 billion in 2022 to FCFA 272.44 billion in 2023. Non-life insurance saw a growth of 8.91% with FCFA 183.65 billion in 2023, while life insurance and capitalization increased from FCFA 87.71 billion in 2022 to FCFA 88.79 billion in 2023, a slight evolution of 1.23%.
