The municipalities of Dschang and Santchou are beneficiaries of this allocation for the transfer of resources to decentralized local authorities and will be used to carry out six projects.
As part of road projects, the Ministry of Public Works is transferring 140 million FCFA to two municipalities in the Menoua department, Western Region of Cameroon.
An envelope of 70 million FCFA is allocated to the municipality of Dschang, with plans to rehabilitate the following road sections: Roundabout Central Police Station-Pont Regie-Entrance to Tsinfem Market and Entrance ENEO-Place des fêtes de Dschang.
“The remaining amount will be used for the following projects located in the municipality of Santchou, including: the settlement of payment arrears for the installation of six (6) culverts as well as the rehabilitation of the Etamba section, for an amount of 20,000,000 FCFA,” the Mintp points out.
The rehabilitation of certain road sections in the municipality totaling 20,000,000 FCFA, the construction of a culvert on the Megni Fondonera road for 10,000,000 FCFA, the rehabilitation of a rural road in Fombap for an amount of 10,000,000 FCFA, and the rehabilitation of the road section Ndem-Efougou-Echioc, amounting to 10,000,000 FCFA.
In addition, as part of the public investment budget, the ministry also plans to transfer 14.6 billion FCFA this year to decentralized local authorities to manage road infrastructure development and maintenance works, covering a total linear distance of 1,333.55 km. Two billion will be allocated to regional councils for the treatment of 119.2 km, while 12.6 billion will go to the 360 municipalities to treat 1,216.35 km of roads.
